Who we are?

AMCEL - Amapá Florestal e Celulose S.A., brazilian company with sustainable forest management, which aims to reforest, process and export eucalyptus chips produced according to the highest quality standards to supply raw material for pulp, paper and wood products.

The Amcel's control is exercised by the Japanese group Nippon Paper Industries and NYK-Nippon Yusen Kaisha, companies with extensive experience in forestry and use of plant fibers. With about 130,000 hectares available for planting renewable eucalyptus forests added to 180 thousand hectares of native forests, the forestry project comprises seven Amapá state municipalities: Santana, Macapá, Porto Grande, Ferreira Gomes, Itaubal the Piririm, Tartarugalzinho and Amapá, targets of constant social and environmental investments that reflect the company's commitment to sustainable development of the region where it operates.

History

AMCEL - Amapá Florestal e Celulose S.A. was created in August 1976 as a subsidiary of CAEMI Group, starting the pine plantations in 1977 In 1996, Champion Papel e Celulose acquired the equity rights of AMCEL and in 2000 the International Paper do Brazil Ltda., took over the Champion group.In 2004 the company opted for replacement of Pinus spp. by Eucalyptus spp...Currently the equity control of AMCEL belongs to Japanese groups, Nippon Paper Industries and NYK - Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha.

AGRICULTURE - GRAIN PRODUCTION

Amcel started its cycle in the agricultural market in 2017
with experimental soybean planting. The company's vision is to diversify its production
, using the Cerrado Biome for food production in the state of Amapá. The soybean crop has been standing out as the main grain crop in the State, to serve the international market, through its adaptation to the region's climate and soil. Corn stands out as the 2nd crop (off-season crop), and more recently the bean crop, both to supply the state's domestic market. With the advance of the agribusiness sector in the company, new investments are made in the acquisition of machines, structures for processing and drying grain and training people. In this way, contributing to food production and economic development in the northern region of the country.
